about
Second single from Desperate Characters
lyrics
Out of that orange coloured sky
We saw disaster
Amber kissed the ground, I guarantee
There ain’t no love here
Out of that orange coloured sky
We could no longer see the stars
And California looks like mars
I’ve been drunk on sunshine
That felt like it was free
So I wouldn’t hold your breath
Because we’re paying for the air we breathe
Americana soil scorched
And England’s looking blue
We’re doing what’s best for ourselves
And you do what’s best for you
Out of that orange coloured sky
We could no longer see the stars
And California looks like mars
I’ve been high on sunshine
that’s bleeding blisters down
On ancient waters rising
The salt up from the ground
Aries, save some space for me
In your land above the stars
Cause California looks like mars
California looks like mars
California looks like mars
You were born into a world where fossil fuels where the norm whether it be oil, gas or coal. But also, we were glad of it, we were happy to have it. We do have a duty to try and change it. Now I wouldn’t say it’s up to the younger people to change the future but the younger people will change the future, that’s what happens, that’s the cycle. But the older people can do their bit to shape that, to steer the younger people on the right path.
Out of that orange coloured sky
We could no longer see the stars
California looks like mars
Out of that orange coloured sky
We could no longer see the stars
California looks like mars
Out of that orange coloured sky
We could no longer see the stars
California looks like mars
California looks like mars
California looks like mars
